'Kala' (Sanskrit for "time") is a time-based installation inspired by Hindu and Buddhist cosmology. Spanning 9' x 12' x 5', it forms an abstract clock representing past, present, and future.
Materials symbolize the Trailokya (three realms):
Ice: Formless realm (Arupaloka)
Stainless steel: World of form (Rupaloka)
Milk: World of desire (Kamaloka)
Red Kumkum pigment: Hindu rituals
Pyramids, connecting heaven and earth, are central to the design. As ice melts, pigmented water flows through steel troughs into milk, tracing creation's link to the creator.
The installation alters time perception through slow water movement and droplet sounds, mirroring a ticking clock. Changes in milk visualize universal shifts over time.
